Obama Filed

Two contract employees for the State Department have been fired and a third disciplined for inappropriately looking at Democratic Sen. Barack Obama's passport file, a spokesman said Thursday. (whole story)

Spokesman Sean McCormack said the department itself detected the instances of "imprudent curiosity," which occurred separately on Jan. 9, Feb. 21 and March 14. He would not release the names.

"We believe this was out of imprudent curiosity, so we are taking steps to reassure ourselves that that is, in fact, the case," McCormack said.

Okay fine, there's an obvious breach of security, the fifth amendment and a slue of other issues to come up with.

Caption to the photo, "Can you believe it? His grandma was white!?"
"I know! Oh, look! His middle name is... OMG...!!"

How about them not catching those contractors the first, second - but not until the third time it happened?

But what were they hoping to find?

Is there some burning secret that should be discussed? Perhaps all those trips to Dubai or something?

Who were they looking for? George? No, too obvious. Besides, the State Department hates the Bush Administration. I'd say it was much more likely for the benefit of Hillary.

And how often can our State department look at these kind of records without warrant? Pretty much whenever they want, by the look of it. But wait, isn't this the exact same State Department that issued a warning about privacy in Communist China - today? (link to that one)
"They can look at you in your hotel room - without warning! Lookout!"

Well, this is either going to play out for a week, or drop dead by morning, and resurrected on Sunday chat shows...

Look at the dates, each breach was almost immediately after Obama's big primary wins. Also as contract employees, these weren't State's "people" they were from the outside (temps).

If we could actually trust the executive branch to do a real investigation then a quick look at the the temps' bank accounts should be revealing. That is, if an investigation will really be done. (cricket noises)

UPDATE:

Does it matter if it was all three of the remaining candidates?
Cause it was.
