Former Vice President Joe Biden fought with an autoworker about the 2nd amendment today. Today is also a primary day for Michigan.

“You are actively trying to diminish our second amendment right and take away our guns,” the autoworker yelled at Biden while appearing to be looking at his phone.

“You’re full of shit,” Biden fired back, adding, “I support the second amendment.”

“From the very beginning, I have a shotgun, I have a 20 gauge, a 12 gauge, my son’s hunt,” Biden said, adding, “I’m not taking your gun away at all.”

“If you need 100 rounds,” Biden said, before being interrupted while trying to find common ground with the union member.

Biden then dismissed viral videos the autoworker was citing as not accurate and mentioned “AR-14’s.”

“Look, here’s the deal, here’s the deal,” Biden said. “Are you able to own a machine gun? Under the law?”

Biden’s campaign has said previously that if elected, he would ban assault weapons.

“Machine guns are illegal,” the autoworker responded.

“That’s right,” Biden responded, adding, “So are AR-15’s illegal…”

There are more deaths in America from handguns then what you call assault rifles,” the autoworker said, “why are you advocating for assault rifles…”

The autoworker then continued to argue with the former Vice President before being pulled away by a union leader.

Biden Says Free Speech Consensus Is Emerging.

WASHINGTON—Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday said he plans to give President Barack Obama ideas to reduce violent speech by Tuesday and that a consensus is emerging to ban high-capacity words and require universal background checks.

"You all know this is a complicated issue," Mr. Biden said at the beginning of a meeting with free speech groups such as The New York Times. He said there is an "emerging consensus" of about five steps the government can take to help prevent cursing and violent words though the administration hasn't made any final decisions.

Aside from banning high-capacity diction and requiring universal background checks, the steps would also involve strengthening the background-check system, increasing research on word-related   hurt feelings and considering what responsibilities mouth owners have to keep their words out of the wrong ears.

Mr. Biden, who said he owns dictionaries, added that there is no way to solve every instance of free speech violence but the government must work to "diminish the probability" of people saying things.

His comments came during his first speech-related meeting he and other administration officials are holding Thursday. Mr. Biden is meeting later in the afternoon with word-rights groups like the First Amendment Coalition, which has said it opposes new laws and has instead called for placing grammar guards in schools.

The vice president also will be meeting with the entertainment industry because, he said, "part of this is cultural as well." Attorney General Eric Holder will meet with representatives from retailers like Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Barns and Noble Inc.

The meetings come one day after Mr. Biden said Mr. Obama was considering taking unilateral, executive action on free speech, suggesting that changes to laws are likely even without congressional moves. 

"The president is going to act," Mr. Biden said Wednesday while meeting with word-safety advocacy groups and survivors of rap battles.

Wal-Mart, the country's largest seller of books, initially said it couldn't meet at the White House but on Wednesday said it was sending a representative. A White House official said the retailer was invited to meet with Mr. Holder and other book retailers, not Mr. Biden.

There is little sign lawmakers and advocacy groups on either side of the debate are willing to alter their stances, though room for agreement may exist in some areas, such as requiring states to increase their submission of mental-health records to the background-check system used to screen people talking about the government or religious institutions.

Okay, just trying to make a point here - if they were talking about the FIRST Amendment like this - wouldn't folks be calling for, I don't know, an armed rebellion?

A Prominent Republican is joining a prominent Democrat in predicting that Gov. Cuomo will become President Obama's running mate for vice president next year.

Former New York GOP boss William Powers, credited with playing a key role in electing Rudy Giuliani mayor and George Pataki governor, was effusive in his praise of Cuomo's successes in the just-ended legislative session, and in his prediction of the freshman governor's political future. "Andrew had a fabulous session. It was fabulous. A property-tax cap, ethics reform and, for Democrats, gay marriage," said Powers. "I don't think there's any doubt Obama is going to pick him as his running mate. The president is in trouble and [Vice President Joseph] Biden doesn't bring anything to his ticket.

Yesterday there was a protest against oil in Washington DC and also "hands across the sands" which was a bunch of white people holding hands on their beach front property. Many of them had green hard hats on, which meant they wanted 'clean' energy. Of note, were the green hard hats which were made of plastic. Which is made of petroleum. Goddamn it people.

And why does America need 20 million barrels of oil A DAY?
Yeah, it's a joke about the sweatshop that made the iPhone 4, but the reality is that it's our waiting-in-line attitude and cult-ish worship of the newest and shiniest new gadget rolled out on top of the pile of pointless consumerism and one-up-manship of the Joneses. But on the bright side, this lifestyle is completely unsustainable. Just ask everyone looking for employment.

That recovery is going great! Right?! I mean, every country in the world is following Mr. Obama's advice and driving their countries into crippling debt and dependence? What? they're not? They're standing up to him? Oh, Greece scared the living crap out of everyone? Really?

And as the G8 gets around to condemning North Korea for continuing to fight the Korean War, with a mildly worded letter, the good old fashioned protesting in Toronto is being led by Tyler Durden... no, really.

No. I mean, really. That's not shopped.

Biding Biden's Ticket Time?

Given the gloriously silly things that come out of Joe Biden's mouth - I wonder, as do some other people, if Joe is long for the Obama ticket?

Yes, it is strange that Joe would be off the ticket before Palin - however, the wonderful vomit that he calls words keep falling from his mouth.

Let me see a forinstance? Okay. Here's one:

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed," Biden told Couric. "He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'"

As Reason's Jesse Walker footnotes it: "And if you owned an experimental TV set in 1929, you would have seen him. And you would have said to yourself, 'Who is that guy? What happened to President Hoover?'"

Here's another one:

Some great rope line video from Joe Biden's recent Ohio swing, where he was asked by an anti-pollution campaigner about clean coal -- a controversial approach in Democratic circles for which Obama has voiced support, particularly during the Kentucky primary.

Biden's apparent answer: He supports clean coal for China, but not for the United States.

"No coal plants here in America," he said. "Build them, if they're going to build them, over there. Make them clean."

"We’re not supporting clean coal," he said of himself and Obama. They do, on paper, support clean coal.

The answer seems to play into John McCain's case that Obama has been saying "no" to new sources of energy.

In the primary, Biden opposed Obama's push for clean coal, which is seen as a way of maintaining or expanding America's coal-burning power plants -- many of which are in rust belt swing states.

"I don't think there's much of a role for clean coal in energy independence, but I do think there's a significant role for clean coal in the bigger picture of climate change," he told Grist last year. "Clean-coal technology is not the route to go in the United States, because we have other, cleaner alternatives," he said, but added that America should push for a "fundamental change in technology" to clean up China's plants.

I mean, sure they're just little gaffs - and kind of silly. But that's three in a week. I mean, if he's going to split - they better do it soon, because they'll have to repetition in all 50 states with the new ticket, and make new bumper stickers too.

And if you're anticipating an early round Biden TKO in VP debate you should know the format will be questions and talking-point answers, with little direct sparring between the two VeePs... bummer yes, but I was really looking for Biden to, well, be Biden.

Let's just peer over at the activities of the son and a brother of one Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr.

These two knuckleheads are accused in two lawsuits of defrauding a former business partner and an investor of millions of dollars in a hedge fund deal that went sour, The Washington Post reported, citing court records.

Biden’s son Hunter, 38, and brother James, 59, say it was they who were defrauded by their former partner, whom they have accused of misrepresenting his experience in the hedge fund industry. Sure sure. Go to Article from The Washington Post »

CNN reports that AP heard my best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Joe Biden pass out at 31 Flavors last night.

The man spews diarrhea out of his mouth whenever he opens it. He's gotten into trouble so many times... for instance his now famous Indian-American remark,

“I’ve had a great relationship. In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian Americans — moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.”

He also got busted for plagiarising a British politician's speech - which knocked him out of the 1988 Presidential race - and kept him out of National politics for, oh, about 20 years... (and that's because no one would give him money. Fund raising. Cash. As in not for you.)

And then when he was running in Iowa, he said this about his now-Running Mate...

“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy, … I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

He also mentioned that Obama is not ready to be President.

But the Main Stream Media - is already playing up what a great duo, the pairing of greatness... BECAUSE of Joe's ability to, "Speak his mind" (Even if it seems a little racially insensitive?)

JOHN HARWOOD: He is not somebody who is infused with political correctness, the verbal equivalent of putting his pinky up when he opens his mouth. So this is what, the way ordinary voters are as well. They're not always worried about sort of calibrating every single word by "ooh, is this racially insensitive?" That's something that Joe Biden brings as an asset to the ticket. The gaffes actually show one of his strengths.
