Saturday Morning Cartoons - Favre's Pecker

If there is a scandal in need of animation, you can bet Taiwan’s NMA will be there. Up now: “Brett Favre’s Pecker is the talk of the town.”

Is he or isn't he?

Reports are flying around that Favruh is retiring.

I won't believe it until the third week of the regular season...

Maybe not until the eleventh.

A person with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that Brett Favre has informed the Vikings he will not return to Minnesota for a second season.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity Tuesday because the team had not made an official announcement. The person says the 40-year-old Favre called coach Brad Childress to say his injured ankle is not responding as well to surgery and rehabilitation as he had hoped.

Favre also told the Vikings last year he wouldn't play for them but ultimately changed his mind and joined the team immediately after it broke training camp.

Favre injured his ankle in the NFC championship, which the Vikings lost to the New Orleans Saints... and they also changed the rules for Mr. Baby-pants... but that's for another discussion.

Football Discussion

Lots and lots of football yesterday. The two best games of the year. My prediction had been Saints and Colts Superbowl. My reasoning: Favre indoors and on the road = Saints win, but he'd keep it interesting. And it was, until Favre reminded us he's Favre.

Looks kind of sad. Aw, poor me.
Cut to Mrs. Favre. Apparently she'd never seen her husband play before?

No brainer. Looks like New England is still a tad bitter about the last two seasons, no?

Monday Morning Quarterback

Bears came back and defeated a team they were supposed to wipe off the bottom of their foot. I felt really good about the win, until I realized that Seattle was missing half their regular starters.

Washington bailed out Detroit, again.

Favre out Favred Favre - thanks to a little help from his friends

Colts and Cardinals on Sunday Night. Looks like Kurt is back to his old crappy self again.

Steelers are looking a little rusty.

Saints and Jets are 3-0. Wha?

And the long drawn out failure that is the 2009 Cubs season is finally over, while the Yankee's $201.4 million gamble has (finally) netted them an AL East Division title.

Number 4 to Retire. Favre? Not so fast.

This just in, Packer Fans -- Packers will retire twice-retired Brett Favre's iconic "4", but probably not in 2009, because hey, he might change his mind and come back again.
"Quite honestly, from a practical standpoint, we had to cancel one retirement ceremony already," Murphy said, laughing. "I think it's smart to make sure that he is retired, rather than going through a situation like that again."

Below are a couple other color schemes that I'm sure would like to stitch his last name on the back...
