Is he or isn't he?
Reports are flying around that Favruh is retiring.I won't believe it until the third week of the regular season...
Maybe not until the eleventh.
A person with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that Brett Favre has informed the Vikings he will not return to Minnesota for a second season.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity Tuesday because the team had not made an official announcement. The person says the 40-year-old Favre called coach Brad Childress to say his injured ankle is not responding as well to surgery and rehabilitation as he had hoped.
Favre also told the Vikings last year he wouldn't play for them but ultimately changed his mind and joined the team immediately after it broke training camp.
Favre injured his ankle in the NFC championship, which the Vikings lost to the New Orleans Saints... and they also changed the rules for Mr. Baby-pants... but that's for another discussion.

Gordon Brown Caught On Tape!
Gordon Brown describes pensioner as a 'bigoted woman' Gordon Brown has apologized after being caught on microphone describing a voter he had just spoken to in Rochdale as a "bigoted woman.
Not more than a month after American Vice President learned how sensitive microphones are (Big F*ckin' Deal) Gordon Brown forgot to see his sound man and give back his mic pack - or forgot to switch it to 'mute'. Either way, Gordon Brown has now committed the most horrific political gaffe possible in the UK - he spoke his mind. Now, in penance, he will go on an eight day apology tour - which is mandated by the British people. He has already apologized eight hundred and fifteen times, but that's not nearly enough, and well below British standards of apology.
The incident began when sixty-five-year-old Gillian Duffy, a pensioner, challenged Prime Minister Brown on a number of issues including immigration and crime on a campaign stop.
As he got into his car, he was still wearing a broadcast microphone and was heard to say "that was a disaster".
Mr Brown later phoned Mrs Duffy to apologize after the tape was played to him during a BBC Radio 2 interview.
After listening to the recording, with his forehead resting on his hand, he said: "I do apologize if I've said anything that has been hurtful."
The Prime Minister has even gone to apologize to Mrs Duffy in person.
The comments were made after the conversation with Mrs Duffy which ended with him complimenting her and her family.
As he went to get into his car, Mr Brown told her: "Very nice to meet you, very nice to meet you."
But off camera, and not realizing he still had a Sky News microphone pinned to his shirt, he was heard to tell an aide: "That was a disaster - they should never have put me with that woman. Whose idea was that? It's just ridiculous..."
Mrs Duffy said after hearing of Mr Brown's comments: "I'm very upset. He's an educated person. Why has he come out with words like that?
"He's supposed to be leading the country and he's calling an ordinary woman who's come up and asked questions that most people would ask him... It's going to be tax, tax, tax for another 20 years to get out of this national debt, and he's calling me a bigot."
Mrs Duffy, a widow who has a daughter and two grandchildren, said she used to work with disabled children for Rochdale council before she retired.
She had earlier told reporters she was a lifelong Labour voter and described Mr Brown as being "very nice".
BBC political editor Nick Robinson said it was a disaster for the prime minister because it showed the gap between his public face and private face.
Yes, Americans, this is much much worse than sleeping with a woman who is not his wife.

Saturday Morning Cartoons
It was GI Joe, but with Big Foot. The show featured animated versions of vehicles popular in real life competing under the United States Hot Rod Association banner, including Bob Chandler's Bigfoot monster truck, Allen Gaines' Orange Blossom Special two-wheel-drive pulling truck, Kenneth and Paula Geuin's Black Gold four-wheel-drive pulling truck, and Dan Patrick's War Lord pulling funny car.
The story is about five people who run a public monster truck show led by Yank Justice, driver of Bigfoot. The other members of the show include Red & Redder (twin sisters who drive Black Gold), Professor Dee (driver of the Orange Blossom Special), and Close McCall (driver of War Lord). A young woman named Jennifer McGraw steals an ancient map that leads to the Fountain of Youth in Florida by a group of terrorists led by an elderly billionaire named Adrian Ravenscroft (a.k.a. "Mr. Big"), and they are attempting to retrieve the map from her. Ravenscroft hires a couple of workers who helped him try to get the map back named Ernie Slye and Ravenscroft's limousine chauffeur. This band of criminals chases Yank Justice and his friends across the United States and try to kill them.

Virgin Mary Seen on Griddle

The hottest thing on the griddle at the Las Palmas restaurant these days isn't the food - it's the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe that a cook says she saw on the griddle.Restaurant manager Brenda Martinez says more than 100 people have flocked to the small town of Calexico on the California-Mexico border to gaze at the likeness of the Virgin Mary since it was discovered as the griddle was being cleaned.
Among the awe-struck was a group of masked Mexican wrestlers who arrived on Thursday for an exhibition at a nearby swap meet. One, known as Mr. Tempest, says: "This is amazing. It's a true miracle."
Since the discovery, the griddle has been taken out of service and placed in a shrine in a storage room.

Sasquatch Evidence Update
One of the two samples of DNA said to prove the existence of the Bigfoot came from a human and the other was 96 percent from an opossum. Results from tests on genetic material from alleged remains of one of the mythical half-ape and half-human creatures, made public at a news conference on Friday held after the claimed discovery swept the Internet, failed to prove its existence.
This coverage by the mainstream media was all started by the release of a photograph of a hairy heap, bearing a close resemblance to a shaggy full-body gorilla costume, stuffed into a container resembling a refrigerator.
The two men who "discovered" (I love the use of scientific words in stories like these) apparently are a correctional officer and a policeman on disability. Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, the two who say they discovered the Bigfoot corpse while hiking in the woods of northern Georgia.
They also are co-owners of a company that offers Bigfoot merchandise. Wow! What an amazing coincidence!
Here's a video where they tout their services as bigfoot trackers (pops a new window for you)
Here's another where they have a 'scientist' (he wasn't, and was later outed as the brother of one of the guys) talking about the bigfoot corpse. (pops a new window too)
Seriously, check those videos out.
Now - a couple things that I'd like to discuss. First off, why was the news media - including highly vaulted entities such as the New York Times giving this any attention? Are we so completely out of news that we have to treat THIS as news?Second, and more importantly, the thing about this hoax that amazes me and that absolutely no one has brought up:
If the pile of opossum they produced is 4% human - who was it?
For the rest of you, who might be finding this link via the interwebs, or on a google search - looking for Sasquatch or Bigfoot news - let me recommend a book that has all the answers to UFO's, Big Foot, the Chupacabra, the lost continent of Atlantis, witches and Wigi boards...
