It wasn't so much the lie about Russia that brought him down - it was that he was exposed for the lie. Which is, as we know, worse than the deed itself.

I'm waiting for Trump to pick David Petraeus as his replacement which will be a hilarious episode of our National TrainWreck Reality Show - As you'll remember his sex and email scandal with his biographer which was 10x worse than Hillary's and cost him his job at the CIA. The hypocrisy scale might break when that happens ... but does anyone care anymore?

At this point Meet the Press is almost akin to watching The Walking Dead after show The Talking Dead...

NRC: No Water In Spent Fuel Pool Of Japan Plant

US nuclear agency chief says no more water in spent fuel pool at troubled Japan plant.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The chief of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission says all the water is gone from one of the spent fuel pools at Japan's most troubled nuclear plant. This means there's nothing to stop the fuel rods from getting hotter and ultimately melting down.

Minneapolis Metrodome Roof Collapses

Ford Field will host two NFL games this weekend -- the Detroit Lions' regularly scheduled game today against the Green Bay Packers, and Monday's night's Minnesota Vikings-New York Giants game.

The Vikings-Giants game was postponed today due to heavy snowfall and forced to move when the roof collapsed. According to multiple reports, it will be played at 7:20 p.m. Monday at Ford Field.

"It's Detroit. Goodcall. Makes sense" Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay tweeted this morning.

The NFL also considered moving the game to Indianapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium and to TCF Bank Stadium at the University of Minnesota.

The game will be the first ever regular-season Monday Night game at Ford Field.

"Evangelist" and "Disinformation"

When asked why 18% of Americans believe President Obama is Muslim ...

"... is because we have people who are supposed to be responsible public leaders, like Franklin Graham, who are spreading what seems to me like a sort of disinformation campaign... What Franklin Graham should say: 'Barack Obama says he's a Christian, he's a Christian, end of story."

Prothero also pointed out that Obama prayed with Franklin and his father, America's most famous living evangelist, Rev. Billy Graham, in May but Franklin still repeatedly used the "if" word to answer King's questions Thursday on whether Obama has accepted Christ.

Prothero said:

"Franklin Graham doesn't seem to be interested in focusing on preaching the gospel of -- of Jesus. He wants to be spreading misinformation about the religion of Islam.

... Why are we listening to Franklin Graham?"

Why indeed?

Besides -- and let me be clear -- ALL THIS 'OBAMA IS A MUSLIM' CAME FROM HILLARY CLINTON, not the Republicans! (Link)

To all that is good about scientific theory, we sure have a short attention span. All of this 'Secret Muslim crap came out of Hillary Clinton's Iowa campaign headquarters. Remember when she FIRED her people for doing it, but wouldn't come out and say that Obama wasn't a Muslim? In fact, she said the exact thing this creep Graham was saying. Here's the transcript from 60 Minutes:

CLINTON: Of course not. I mean, that's--you know, there is not basis for that. You know, I take him on the basis of what he says. And, you know, there isn't any reason to doubt that.

KROFT: And you said you'd take Senator Obama at his word that he's not a Muslim.

CLINTON: Right. Right.

KROFT: You don't believe that he's a Muslim or implying? Right.

CLINTON: No. No. Why would I? No, there is nothing to base that on, as far as I know.

KROFT: It's just scurrilous --

CLINTON: Look, I have been the target of so many ridiculous rumors. I have a great deal of sympathy for anybody who gets, you know, smeared with the kind of rumors that go on all the time. [Emphasis added]

Doesn't anyone remember that silly headdress Obama was in when he visited Kenya? They even made a New York Times cover with him on it? That was only two years ago, people?!

Anyhow, it doesn't matter anyway. What does matter is that The USA Today has a section called Faith & Reason...

How does THAT work? Do they also have a Fairy Tales & Logic section in their comic book they call news?

Fun With Fundraising

Mr. Obama is the best fundraiser the Democrat Party has, but his drawing power isn't what it used to be.

As Mr. Obama is off to MO and NV today to raise money for Sec/State Robin Carnahan (D), running for an open Senate seat there and to help prop up wounded dog Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

But Carnahan's campaign wasn't able to completely sell out the Folly Theater, where Obama will appear for a 'grassroots event' on Carnahan's behalf, at the prices they wanted. Tickets once priced at $250 are now going for $99, while $35 tickets are half off. So come on down!

The 1,078-seat theater was expected to net $250K for Carnahan's campaign, the Kansas City Star reported.

It's just one of Obama's 2 stops for Carnahan; he will appear at a higher-dollar affair at a Marriott hotel in downtown Kansas City -- ironically, the same location where the RNC will host its summer meeting in Aug. But it's telling Obama couldn't fill a theater at the higher price; in '08, just 2 weeks before Election Day, Obama drew 100K to an event in St. Louis and another 75K to a rally in Kansas City, according to an account from McClatchy.

Mr. Obama had 4 total fundraising events scheduled in MO and 2 in NV. VP Joe Biden is also hitting the trail, raising money for Rep. Kurt Schrader (D-OR), a freshman Dem facing a tough re-election bid, in a luncheon event in Portland. Later, Biden travels to the Bay Area for a fundraiser with Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA).

I haven't seen drop off like that since George Bush was in office.

And it also makes me wonder, if Mr. Obama's job is to lead - both the country and fundraising, it seems that he's not making a lot of people happy with either of his duties. If he keeps this up, he might have a primary fight to worry about before the general election.

It also makes me think that the Democrats are setting up to surrender all the gains they made in 2008.

No McDecomposition

Have you ever wondered what a McDonald's Happy Meal looks like after it's sat on a shelf (not in a freezer) for a year? This seems like one of those things I would learn accidentally, but writer Nonna Joann Bruso decided to find out on purpose.

The results? Not as disgusting as you might think, which itself is sort of disgusting.

She wrote:

“It smelled delicious for a few days. I’d get a whiff of those yummy French fries every time I walked into my office. After a week or so, you could hardly smell it. My husband worried that when the food began to decompose, there would be a terrible odor in our home. He also worried the food would attract ants and mice. He questioned my sanity.

NOPE, no worries at all. My Happy Meal is one year old today and it looks pretty good. It NEVER smelled bad. The food did NOT decompose. It did NOT get moldy, at all.”

The pitiful, slightly pained expression on the Littlest Pet Shop dog included with the meal says it all.

I was sent this article - and what can I say?

First, I post everything that is sent to me.

Second, this pretty much sums up the disappointment I hear in, well, everyone who was swept up in the Kool-Aid days of 2008. Hope and Change isn't working out the way everyone hoped.

And that's on both sides of the isles.

I might also add, this was written by one of his supporters!

The tl;dr is this one quote,

"It was clear after just 90 days what a mistake I'd made. My taxes have gone up and my quality of life has gone down. Hope has given way to disgust and I see now that change is simply a euphemism for "big government."

Cartoon Disappointment

Did you ever see the old Pink Panther cartoon? It was on TV in the 70's?

It just 'came on' the TV last night - on Channel Boomerang.
Boomerang is the Cartoon Network's attempt to keep their catalog of old Hanna Barbara and MGM cartoons in circulation. It was spun off in 2000, and I'm going to guess they keep airing the old catalog as part of the syndication deal Turner made in 1985.

Anyhow, I sat down and watched the title screen come up, and I grinned. Probably how I used to when I was a kid. I was expecting quite a bit.

I was disappointed. It wasn't funny. It wasn't even kind of funny. It just wasn't good.

And then I remembered, when I was a kid - the Pink Panther cartoons weren't good THEN either. I always expected that it WOULD be. Maybe THIS time it'd be different...

But you know what? It NEVER was.

Unlike other shows I've researched and re-watched later in life (Battle of the Planets being the best example of this Nostalgia-Trek) and realized after re-watching it and comparing it to my memory of the show, and so far my memory of whatever it was I was re-watching was always better. I realized, always too late, that I was better off with the memory of the thing, rather than the actual thing.

What's another good example - the Charlie Brown [Insert Holiday Title] Special.
Always better left in the memory banks.
The first season of the Muppet Show also disappointed me quite a bit - mostly because I had a sense of context now. I decided that first season was nothing more than a 'Laugh In' rip off with puppets.

But the Pink Panther reminded me of how disappointed I was as a Kid. Now I know I don't need to research the old Filmmation Flash Gordon cartoon - because except for the one time prime-time special on NBC PrimeTime in 1979 - it was terrible too.

I'd still like to find the Hulk cartoon that ran after Spiderman and his Amazing Fiends, and before Thundarr the Barbarian. However, since it is SO hard to find - and after my experience with the Pink Panther and all those other shows I have been able to re-watch... I'm guessing it's being hidden by Marvel for a darn good reason.

If you're scratching your noodle, yes, this is the one where Banner's clothes would 'magically' re-appear after he turned back from the Hulk - but Stan Lee narrated the opening, and it was kind of cool - (ahem) from what I remember.
