Well it ain't that guy! - That guy couldn't even convince the country that he had a better enviornmental record than Ralph Nader!
"You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet" was his actual campaign slogan. And, yeah, we hadn't. Not from him. Hillary made sure of that.
The only worse canidate was a long faced fellow from a North Eastern state. His name escapes me... perhaps he was mentioned on this page earlier? He liked to talk a lot, and then put his boot in his mouth.

Depend how you mean "Can't beat George." If you go by actual votes or a fully counted electoral votes, then he did win. If you mean the Supreme Court choosing when things lokoed bleak for Republicans, then yes, he could not beat George.
As far as the books (trees) go. I'd rather have a man who can read.
I understand your love of the current president but I am more of a non-torturing, financially conservative, no preemptive war, anti politicizing of the DOJ, three distinct branches of government kinda guy.
