This was found on Mars. Yeah, it's a Smiley face. Actually, that's your damned human brain working a human response to comprehend the image. Your stupid brain thinks that this :) is also a smiley face. It's not. It's a colon and an end parenthesis.

The interesting thing about the human face is that it is a template for communication. You don't have to say anything for people to read your face. The same thing goes for a photograph of a face or a drawing representing a face.

So a representation of the human face exists 'in the realm of ideas' regardless of how it's rendered. For instance - the surface of Mars.

It's not goddamned aliens. Get off your chair.
