Goodbye George

George Carlin has died from heart failure. The man who made famous the "seven words you can never say on television" passed away. He was 71.

Carlin, who has had several heart attacks and a history of cardiac issues, went into the hospital this afternoon after complaining of heart problems. He was leading the Comic Heart Attack contest, but never was able to burn himself up.

Carlin has more than 20 comedy albums, 14 HBO specials, numerous TV and movie roles, and three best-selling books to his credit. Last year, he celebrated his 50th year in show business, and he had just finished his last HBO special in March, "It's Bad for Ya." And albums means vinyl. And that 7 dirty words bit - he took that to the Supreme Court and won. He won for you, you dirty sons-a-bitches. Here's the link to that -- NSFW, cause, you can't say them on television - and probably can't hear them at work. Just a guess.

I was lucky enough to see him in Vegas about two years ago. He was doing all material on dead teenagers, dead people, death... wasn't all that funny. Actually, it was a bit uncomfortable. But that's George for you. 80 dollar tickets, 40 dollar drinks. What? You want I should entertain you? Go Fugg yourself.

I will miss George very, very much.

  2. In the Bullshiat Department, a businessman can't hold a candle to a clergyman. 'Cause I gotta tell you the truth, folks. When it comes to bullshiat, big-time, major league bullshiat, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims: religion. No contest. No contest. Religion. Religion easily has the greatest bullshiat story ever told.
Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man -- living in the sky -- who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

    But He loves you.

He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more. Now, you talk about a good bullshiat story. Holy shiat!
