Obama Endorsed

Oh, oh. Rolling Stone wrap around cover for the Columbia House CD club advertisement has put a "Glowing Obama" on the front.

They've done it before... and it didn't really work out....

  1. Damn, Capn. You seem to have cherry-picked the information for this post even more than the bushies cherry-picked the intel leading up to the Iraq clusterfuck.

Rolling Stone has endorsed a handful of candidates, dating all the way back to 1972. All Democrats. Not surprising considering RS's roots. They missed with Gore, Kerry, and McGovern. But they got it right with Carter and Clinton. Come November, they'll probably pull even.

More importantly, however, you seem to have missed the real significance of this endorsement. It is the first time EVER that Rolling Stone endorsed a candidate during the primary season. In the past, they have always endorsed whoever the Democratic nominee was. For the first time, they have actually taken a side during the primary.

This is hugely significant, as it deals a huge blow to the Clinton campaign. Either RS has determined that Mrs. Clinton is not worthy of the nomination, OR they have crunched the numbers and realized (as many of us have) that it would be next to impossible for her to win the nomination. I haven't read the article, but either way, this is a very bad omen for her.
