Putin Saves the World
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said a locally developed vaccine for Covid-19 has been given approval after less than two months of human testing.
Putin said the vaccine had passed all the required checks, and he gave it to his daughter.
Mass vaccinations begin in October.
Speed, and Russia's work, alarmed some experts and they suggest that Russian researchers might be cutting corners.
Expect the Zombie and/or Cronenburg storyline of 2020 to begin right around Halloween.

Baseball in Jeopardy
As of Friday, the league and the MLB Players Association had announced that 29 players and team staff have tested positive for Covid-19 over the week.
If baseball falls, I guess I won't have to worry about my NFL draft as much.

Unemployed Americans Have A New Full-time Job!
This "joke" was ripped directly from the headlines of - CNN: Unemployed Americans have a new full-time job: Filing for jobless benefits
It's the best Mort Drucker tribute I can give, at the moment.

Stimulus Deal
The White House and the Senate finished their deal early Wednesday morning over a $2-trillion package to place band-aids on an economy about to hit a major depression. The deal ends days of negotiations that produced one of the most expensive and far-reaching measures in the history of Congress.
"Ladies and gentleman, we are done," White House legislative affairs director Eric Ueland said right before 1 a.m. after leaving Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's office. The battle over riders and pork has been going around the clock since last Friday. "We have a deal."
McConnell came to the floor to tell everyone, "At last, we have a deal. After days of intense discussions, the Senate has reached a bipartisan agreement on a historic relief package for this pandemic."

Scarecrow Joe
Former Vice President Joe Biden fought with an autoworker about the 2nd amendment today. Today is also a primary day for Michigan.
“You are actively trying to diminish our second amendment right and take away our guns,” the autoworker yelled at Biden while appearing to be looking at his phone.
“You’re full of shit,” Biden fired back, adding, “I support the second amendment.”
“From the very beginning, I have a shotgun, I have a 20 gauge, a 12 gauge, my son’s hunt,” Biden said, adding, “I’m not taking your gun away at all.”
“If you need 100 rounds,” Biden said, before being interrupted while trying to find common ground with the union member.
Biden then dismissed viral videos the autoworker was citing as not accurate and mentioned “AR-14’s.”
“Look, here’s the deal, here’s the deal,” Biden said. “Are you able to own a machine gun? Under the law?”
Biden’s campaign has said previously that if elected, he would ban assault weapons.
“Machine guns are illegal,” the autoworker responded.
“That’s right,” Biden responded, adding, “So are AR-15’s illegal…”
There are more deaths in America from handguns then what you call assault rifles,” the autoworker said, “why are you advocating for assault rifles…”
The autoworker then continued to argue with the former Vice President before being pulled away by a union leader.

Peace in Afghanistan
After 20 years (two decades) of war in Afghanistan, a peace deal has been signed.
The terms of the deal has the US committing to withdraw all military forces and support staff, and it's NATO allies, within about 14 months. US will withdraw troops to 8,600 in the first 135 days out of five bases.
The remaining forces, according to the agreement, will leave "within the remaining nine and a half months."
The Afghan government agrees to release up to 5,000 Taliban prisoners in exchange for 1,000 Afghan security forces currently held by the Taliban.
"We owe a debt of gratitude to America's sons and daughters who paid the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan, and to the many thousands who served over the past nearly 19 years," Gen. Mark A. Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said which comes after seven days after the "Reduction in Violence" agreement.
"The only responsible way to end the war in Afghanistan is through a negotiated political settlement. Today is a reflection of the hard work of our Nation's military, the U.S. Department of State, intelligence professionals, and our valued partners," he added. "The United States is committed to the Afghan people, and to ensuring that Afghanistan never becomes a safe haven for terrorists to threaten our homeland and our Allies."

Articles of Impeachment
If the House Democrats had used the USPS, it might have gotten there about a week earlier. Maybe. At least there would have been a tracking number.
