Bail of Fail

Well, the bail out was a lot of fun while it lasted... it seems that some of the "gun clingers" have written in to their Congressmen and read them the riot act.

The piece of crap legislation that was proposed, had it passed, would have undoubtedly been a single pin-point in the upcoming election. Not unlike voting for or against the Patriot Act, or the War, or something similar. If you were for it, there would have been 'consequences'. Hope you're not trying to buy a house or a car right now.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'll be brief. The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with our constituents wallets - we did. But you can't hold a whole country for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals on Wall Street and in this room. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole mortgage lending system? And if the whole mortgage lending system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of Wall Street and financial institutions in general? I put it to you, Barney Frank - isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen!

Democrats 2008: We need to find out who ignored the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae debacles.

Democrats 2004: Freddie and Fannie aren't broke and we don't need to do anything to fix them.

Pelosi-Leadership=Cat 7 FAIL

Worst House Majority leader ever.

She didn't even secure the votes of her own majority party before she goes out and bashes Republicans before the vote is even taken.

FAIL FAIL FAIL

And Democrats? Don't even want to hear a word from you about how the minority scuttled this bill when you didn't need them in the first place.

If this was so great, you'd have passed it, and then took all of the credit.

Again....FAIL FAIL FAIL

Dude.

So this was super-wicked important, and yet we don't have agreement. It's well & good for Patty Buchanan to say "bailing out the law-breakers will penalise the Uhmurrickan people," but then, having banks tank and no loans or credit kinda do the same thing.

Would it not be great if a politician was so brave as to say "I'm voting for (or against) this law because it is right, even if its unpopular." I mean, could you imagine having an elected official who *cared* about his electorate?

Seriously.

Cap--way to rock the Eric Stratton reference.

The socialist bailout failed because so many Democrats opposed it. Where was the community organizer, Obama, getting his people in line? Nancy Pelosi can point fingers at Republicans, but Democrats have a majority. They could have passed this bill without a single GOP vote. What does this tell you about the bitter clingers in these Democrat districts? This has huge general election consequences."

In 2004, Republicans held an oversight hearing on Freddie Mae and Fannie Mac. They warned us about this crisis back then, but Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, and other Democrats charged racism. Franklin Raines, the disgraced thief Democrat CEO of Fannie Mae, insisted the loans were "riskless."

The preamble of the Constitution states it was created to 'promote the general welfare,' not ensure it. The bailout bill says it 'provides authority to the treasury secretary to ... ensure the economic well-being of Americans.' This abrogates the Constitution. When the government tries to run the economy, it always fails."

not meant to be strategy to subjegate the Constitution! "We The People" explains the whole mess.

It's THAT simple.

That's why it's the largest part OF the document.
